Read your comments about the new Chinese stapling device. How about just applying a glue like Dermabond and avoiding stitches and staples altogether?
Dear Henry, I do not favor glue because the healing capacity of penile skin is not so much in the skin, it is in the connective tissue layer just under the skin. Skin against skin does not heal well, otherwise your toes would stick together. A raw surface against a raw surface will heal. When we do a circumcision we use a 2 layered closure to be sure the underlying connective tissue is also approximated. Otherwise immediately under the circumcision line there will be a small scar and your skin may be “frozen” in that area, whereas in the rest of the shaft, there is normal mobility.
