Dr. Reed, Was circumcised at birth but have always noted a penile skin bridge on the underside of my penis. No especial smell or discharge, but think I’d feel better smooth all the way around. Lloyd
We see a few penile skin bridges and tunnels every year. The most common case of a tunnel is 2 raw surfaces that got stuck together, or perhaps foreskin never properly separated to being with. It is minor surgery to unroof the area and usually underneath is normal skin.
As for penile tunnels of a narrower caliber, the most common cause is a suture remnant that was not removed. In that absorbable sutures if not removed, will leave permanent cross hash marks or white lines in 10% of patients, we favor removal 12 to 14 days after surgery.
Below are some before and after pics of penile skin tunnels and penile skin bridges.
