Dr. Reed, Will an adult circumcision cure posthitis (inflammation of the foreskin)? Edgar
Dear Edgar, In a word “yes”. While inflammation of the mucosal (unpigmented skin) can exist on circumcised men, it is usually secondary to trauma or sexually transmitted disease. Inflammation of the foreskin and head of the penis is called balanoposthitis. In my humble option, hygiene is easier in circumcised men than uncircumcised men who may have urinary and smega irritation underneath their foreskin.
