Foreskin injury and complications following Adult Circumcision

Dr. Reed,  I have come across your name, while I was conducting research on the
Internet about male Adult Circumcision.  I have read about the
advantages and disadvantages pertaining to circumcision.  From a
medical perspective it appears that circumcision has a few benefits
(i.e. prevention of penile cancer and infection).  However, I’ve been
told by a doctor here in Toronto that there is a high risk of
experiencing complications of the foreskin.
Notwithstanding the above, I’m enquiring whether you perform
circumcisions and the location of your clinic?  Moreover, if you do
perform this medical procedure, what is the cost and is there any
initial consultation?     Sincerely,  Kenneth

Dear Kenneth,

We are located in greater Miami , Florida.  Yes, you can initiate a consultation over the phone and there will be ample discussion before you are examined at the office as well.  Consultation fee is $250 and adult cosmetic circumcision to include use of the facility, local anesthesia and any followup care we provide is $1,750.

I have performed about 8000 adult circumcisions and I do not recall any complications to the foreskin.  As you probably know, the foreskin is removed at the time of circumcision.  Most patients in the flaccid state do not want any foreskin covering the head of the penis.  Please see photos of our circumcision patients on our web-site  You do have a choice of 4 circumcision styles:. loose, moderate or tight; cut low high or moderate, remove or do not remove the frenulum, and cut parallel to the rim of the head of the penis (customary) or perpendicular to the shaft.

With kindest regards,

Harold M. Reed, M.D.
